You can’t go wrong with this classic gin fizz cocktail recipe. It’s super simple to make, fresh, light, and a hit year round (especially during the summer). It is up to you to add the egg white, which makes the cocktail frothy.
2 ounces (4 tablespoons) gin
1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon powdered sugar or simple syrup
1 small to medium egg white, optional
3 ounces (6 tablespoons) club soda
Lemon slice, optional
Without the egg white: Shake gin, lemon juice, and powdered sugar in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain into a glass filled with ice. Add club soda and garnish with a lemon slice.
With the egg white: Add the gin, lemon juice, powdered sugar, and egg white to a dry cocktail shaker and shake for 15 to 20 seconds. Add some ice, and then shake again until cold. Strain into a glass filled with ice. Add club soda and garnish with a lemon slice.
